Pixel fonts, also referred to as screen fonts or bitmap fonts, are specially designed so that every part of every character falls exactly on the monitor's pixels. This prevents the text from appearing blurry on computer monitors.
FFF fonts are designed to work with Macromedia Flash and address the 'antialias' issue which prevents regular fonts to appear clear when used at small sizes.
When used according to specific guidelines, the quality of text that you get is identical as that of HTML sites, making your sites look much better than if you were using your regular choice of fonts. A nice advantage of Flash is that you can use these fonts and embed them onto your SWF file, therefore making them available to anyone, even if they don't have that font installed.
